The beginning of it all…
Bee Bop Buddies Music Program was created by  Stacey Lorea & Mattie Mingst out of love and dedication for what they do best.  The program was designed using a well researched music therapy hands on approach by involving the children in the process of learning educational concepts.  This was not just learning what music was and how to beat the drum but how it can help children read, imagine, create, and express.

Working with children of all abilities for over 15 years, we have found playing live music and combining it with visual, sensory objects, and story time reaches the whole child.

At the Ann Storck Center in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, a very special place for children and adults with developmental disabilities, Stacey and Mattie met and created the first Expressive Arts Department to help those express through arts without limitations.

The program has produced amazing outcomes including early intervention music therapy programs, technology for those to express themselves through the arts independently, an original music CD full of miracle stories, and the ASC Annual Original Musical Performances.  The program was so successful it also was recognized by the Broward County Board of Commissioners 2002 Disability Awareness Award for Most Innovative Project by Local Private Industry.

Building buddies with a
bee bop is all part of the fun!
“We love what we do, and it shows in all the smiles we get in return!”

Music helps us laugh, learn, love, and live!
That is why we created Bee Bop Buddies.
